Following an engineering degree, Jeff started his career in Oil and Gas Exploration. Subsequently, he completed an MBA at the London Business School and then ran a division for pharmaceutical company Abbott Laboratories where he was responsible for taking the division into the consumer market, achieving record sales. Jeff then started a management consultancy and has been a strategy advisor for over 30 years. During this time, he was also cofounder and an executive director of two engineering companies for over 25 years. For the past 16 years, Jeff has also been an Executive Fellow of Henley Business School, providing lectures, seminars and workshops and bringing practical solutions and real-world experience combined with academic rigour to executives. He is also Programme Director for The Strategy Programme, uniquely developing and promoting strategy as a leadership tool. An experienced advisor, lecturer, facilitator, speaker and designer of learning programmes, specialising in business strategy development and implementation, Jeff has been involved in over 160 projects in more than 50 countries. Jeff recently completed his doctorate where he researched the effect of business goal setting on organisational performance.

An example of a current project is an ‘accelerator’ programme for 100 young high potential managers in a global consulting firm. Steve is an experienced Higher Education leader, learning designer, facilitator and coach with a passion for helping individuals and organisations achieve their goals.
After a short career in engineering management, Steve started teaching in Higher Education and rose to the position of Principle Lecturer before moving into education management and business development at major international business schools, including Oxford University’s Saïd Business School and London Business School.
Until December 2020 Steve was Head of Executive Education and part of the Senior Management Team at Henley Business School, University of Reading, where Steve was responsible for liaising with internal and external faculty and leading a large professional service team delivering world-class leadership development programmes.
During his executive education career, Steve has worked with a wide range of public and private sector clients including Standard Chartered Bank, the UK Financial Conduct Authority, Oracle, the government of Oman, UK Cabinet Office, BAE Systems and Mars.
Since becoming a freelance leadership development professional, Steve has provided consulting services to Manchester University and designed and delivered programmes for the Chartered Association of Business Schools and clients of Imperial and King’s Business Schools. At King’s, Steve has also designed and delivered innovative programmes for Kings College staff and faculty, including programmes for Emerging Leaders and Academic Heads of Department, and he is currently developing a Senior Leaders programme for this Russell Group university.
Steve believes that management learning is most effective when set in a personal development and organisational context and focuses on the practical challenges faced by executives. His approach weaves world-class academic input with action learning, coaching and personal feedback.
Steve has an MBA, a Professional Certificate in Executive Coaching and is a SEDA Accredited Teacher in Higher Education. He is currently studying for an MSc in Coaching & Behavioural Change.
